Preoperative Instructions
✓ It is advisable to refrain from taking medications that thin the blood, such as aspirin and Plavix, for at least 7-10 days or as prescribed by the doctor.
✓ Take a shower, wash your face, and shampoo your hair on the morning of the scheduled surgery.
✓ On the day of the double eyelid surgery, avoid wearing makeup or using cosmetics that are difficult to clean.
✓ Prepare a caregiver for post-surgery assistance and avoid driving by yourself.
✓ Wear comfortable clothing and choose a button-up shirt.
✓ Eat easily digestible food before the surgery.
Postoperative Instructions
✓ Sleep with your head elevated at approximately 45° for the first 2–3 days.
✓ Apply cold compresses during the first 2–3 days to reduce swelling and bruising.
✓ Avoid rubbing the surgical area, wearing eye makeup for 1 week, and wearing contact lenses until advised by your doctor.
✓ Take all prescribed medications as directed and attend your scheduled follow-up appointment within 7 days.
✓ Eat a normal diet, but avoid spicy foods during the first few days after surgery.
✓ Swelling and bruising usually peak within 2–4 days and gradually improve as healing progresses.
